Do you have an idea or concept for a business or enterprise that will have an impact on your local community or respond to a global challenge?

Are you a change-maker who wants to make a difference and create a better future for yourself and others through innovation?

If this is you, we want to hear from you in our 60 Second Challenge.

Russo Business School is offering up to six (6) scholarships (up to a total value of $51,520) for budding entrepreneurs commencing their Diploma of Business in September 2022.

The Diploma of Business offers a unique value proposition – equivalent to the first year of a Bachelor of Business but with an applied focus, providing you with the practical skills and acumen to succeed in business. At the end of the course, you can either enter the second year of a Bachelor of Business, seek employment in your chosen industry or think about starting your own business.

How to apply

Step 1: Follow us on Social Media

Step 2: Make a 60-second video

Create a 60-second video responding to one of the two prompts below and then post it using the hashtag #RussoBusinessSchool. Entries close on 29th July.

Create a 60-second video answering any of the following questions:

  • What inspires you to be an entrepreneur?
  • If you could go back in time and re-innovate a product or idea what would it be?
  • Which entrepreneur are you inspired by and why?
  • Why are entrepreneurs important?

Create a 60-second video on your idea or venture:

  • What is your idea or venture?
  • How will be benefit society or your community?

Step 3: Fill up the form below

If you are shortlisted, our course coordinator will be in contact with you.

Scholarships are tuition fee waivers and are not paid in cash. The 25% scholarships are equivalent to two subjects and will be deducted as the final two subjects of the Diploma Course.
As a recipient of this Scholarship, you will need to fulfil the following scholarship requirements:
  • Maintain a full-time study load until completion of the course
  • Achieve a Passing Grade average across all subjects
  • Not withdraw from the program or cancel enrolment

If the conditions outlined above are not adhered to, without any exceptional circumstances, the scholarship may be forfeited.

The scholarship is not transferable to another program and cannot be redeemed for cash.

Recipients of this scholarship may not eligible for other RBS Scholarships.

  • Open to Australian and International students who meet academic entrance requirements for the Diploma of Business
  • Meet English Language Proficiency Requirements (international students only)
  • Can commence on 30 May in Brisbane CBD
  • Able to study Full Time, On Campus (approx. three days per week)
Other Criteria

This Scholarship is targeted at individuals who can demonstrate not only an innovative mind but also a sense of community and contribution. We need our budding entrepreneurs to be able to display how they are currently role models or innovators in their school or community, displaying creativity and eagerness to move forward no matter what.

Our scholarship recipients will promote Russo Business School in a positive manner through media campaigns and student ambassador programs to encourage and motivate the next generation of Russo Entrepreneurs.

Selection Process

There is a two-step selection process:

Shortlisting based on 60 second video:

Shortlisting will be based on the assessment of uploaded videos against the following criteria:

  • Originality and innovativeness of the ideas
  • Evidence of critical thought
  • Presentation skills

A maximum of 20 applicants will be shortlisted to progress to the second round. This will involve the shortlisted applicants to participate in an interview with a panel comprising of Russo Business School staff and a leading entrepreneur.
